The drop shadows are still lighter than in the original AE composition. I thought at some point that the playback of DaVinci could've been wrong since I am not working with a decklink, but even when I export at the highest quality possible, as DNxHD or other formats (tried many of them), the playouts don't look the same. I have attempted multiple solutions, tweaking almost all of the DaVinci settings, even exporting the AE composition in AVI format, but nothing seems to help. I have even tried to switch it to Full but then the colours are shifting and getting wrong. I am aware of the shift in colour when importing a composition with the "Video Codec: Animation" from AE, that one needs to change the Data Levels in Clip Attributes from Auto to Full to match proper colours, but in this case, the colours look 100% accurate as the video codec in Apple ProRes 4444/XQ. In After Effects, it looks darker than in DaVinci. I do the export part myself to avoid sending huge files through the internet.Īt this point, I have realised an offset in the drop shadows of texts he created. He sends me back the entire project in After Effects with all of the Illustrator files, I open it and export the motion designs with transparent background to import it back to DaVinci Resolve. The workflow is following: I edit a filmed video (with real actors), then send the exported timeline to the motion designer and he adds/creates motion designs on top of the video. On a project which requires motion design, we (my company) have asked a freelance motion designer who works with Adobe Illustrator + After Effects. ![]()
